Corner Seat, 2025 continues Daze’s long-running engagement with the New York subway environment, a subject that has shaped his practice since the early 1980s. The print centres on the classic subway seating that has become a recurring motif across his recent work. It anchors the image within a distinctly New York narrative while allowing room for broader interpretation through colour rich spray and brushwork. The edition reflects Daze’s interest in how memory, gesture and urban experience can be carried through surface. The interplay between structured composition and intuitive mark making mirrors the evolution of his practice through four decades of painting. This release follows a long working relationship between Daze and Michael Doohan of Dark Green Studios. Both have collaborated across multiple projects, including a recent residency in Ibiza. The edition also extends the ongoing partnership between Dark Green Studios and D’Stassi Art, making this a natural meeting point between all three. The 5 hand-embellished works introduce a more tactile quality, offering collectors a closer view of the artist’s process.
