In an age where individuality often feels elusive amidst the overwhelming noise of digital platforms, Empty Consumption steps forward as a bold protest against the overwhelming tides of consumerism and the viral culture that dominates our daily lives. Curated by OTZ, this exhibition pushes boundaries and challenges the very nature of what it means to stand out in a world that increasingly favors conformity.

The exhibition introduces a new wave of Pop Futurism, a genre that fuses experimentation, individuality, and reflection on the digital age. With six of London’s most dynamic emerging artists at the helm, Empty Consumption showcases a fresh, alternative approach to the mainstream. It invites viewers to reflect on the role of consumerism in shaping society, identity, and art in today’s globalized world.

A New Era of Artistic Expression
The exhibition spans two gallery spaces, each telling its own part of the story. The lower level will be home to large-scale artworks—paintings and sculptures that push the limits of traditional street and studio art. Each piece challenges viewers to reconsider their relationship with consumer culture, offering commentary on how the digital age commodifies not only products but also identity and experience.

The upper gallery will serve as an artist studio and residency space—a first for D’Stassi Art. During the exhibition, participating artists, along with guest creators, will engage with visitors in real-time, making new works as part of an ongoing performance piece. This interactive experience will add layers of spontaneity and fresh energy to the exhibition, with smaller-scale works also available for sale. This space invites visitors to engage not only with completed artworks but with the creative process itself.

Participating Artists:

  • Luap – A trailblazer known for his graffiti-inspired works that dissect urban culture and the complexities of digital identity.
  • Shem – A multimedia artist whose art fuses personal freedom and pop culture with poignant social commentary.
  • Tim Gatenby – A sculptor who merges classical imagery with contemporary satire, making bold statements on the intersection of culture and consumerism.
  • Alex Fakso – His urban photography captures the soul of the streets, blending the rawness of city life with the digital age’s ever-evolving landscape.
  • Yutaro Inagaki – Bringing street art sensibilities into the studio, Inagaki’s work explores rebellion, individualism, and identity in an urban context.
  • Abotz – An artist whose graffiti-style works transition seamlessly from the street to canvas, challenging societal norms while celebrating artistic freedom.

The Future of Pop Futurism
Empty Consumption is not just an exhibition; it's a movement. It brings together street artists and studio creatives to produce work that speaks to the present moment while imagining the future of art. Through this fusion of styles, the show envisions a future where art doesn't conform to expectations but celebrates individuality, subversion, and innovation.
